Climate-risk analytics providers, development-finance institutions and research bodies need an independent, consistent account of where and when events actually happened and what they affected, whether as a multi-year history or a live read on events as they unfold. Official records are patchy, especially in data-scarce regions, and modelled or remote-sensed histories carry the same gaps the models are trying to correct.
Media is a continuous, independent record of observed flooding. FloodTags collects, classifies and geolocates it into structured event data, historical or live, giving researchers and model builders a reference to study trends, validate baselines and recalibrate models against what was actually reported. We find where it did flood, not where it did not; volumes are not guaranteed and sources are not exhaustive, so results should be validated before critical decisions.

For risk and climate analytics, delivery ranges from a one-off historical dataset or Event Time-series, or a Tailored analysis, to an ongoing or real-time subscription, depending on what you need. In a live subscription, clients most often use the reports and the Flood Presence Report. Tailored analyses, such as an Event Time-series or manually validated data points, are a separate track on request.

A multi-year flood event dataset
For a development-finance institution in Accra, FloodTags built a multi-year flood event dataset: event and tag tables with source links, an impression document, a guidance note and an insights chapter. In related parametric flood-cover work in the same city, FloodTags produced a 20-year time-series of events with the neighbourhoods affected and ran a near-real-time flood monitor for two years.
